Hi, I want to get married off season in early October, but I can%26#39;t find anywhere to rent. I grew up by the beach and this would be my dream. I am having a smaller wedding not anything wild and crazy. Any suggestions, thank you!

Many homeowners rent to college students from Sept to May so it can be slim pickings but a few homeowners don;t want the hassel of students. Don;t know how many you find right on the water.

You might consider a small restaurant along the coast or on Cape cod. Not sure how many people ';small'; is to you.

Try typing ';weddings and Rhode Island'; in an online search and see what comes up.

There%26#39;s plenty around to rent, even in October. You really should consider renting in an area like Cape Cod. There%26#39;s more to choose from there. I found this one for you for $1000 for a 3 night weekend in October. It seems to fit what your looking for. If not, keep looking around. Best of luck.

How Exciting! Sounds like a great idea!

If I were you, I would contact the Weekapaug Club - one must own a ';summer home'; in that northerly coastal area of Westerly to belong to the club - and many are grand old stone ';cottages'; with grand porches and sweeping lawns overlooking the ocean across the road. I would ask them to post your request on their bulletin board, or send an email blast to their membership, to see if anyone would be willing to rent their place for the week-end for such an off-season event.

Failing that, across from the ';pond'; there is a lovely B%26amp;B called ';The Grandview'; on Shore Road, that may be willing to accomodate you. (Plan a wedding on the beach and have a catered affair, or just rooms for guests, at the inn.)

Of course there is always the Shelter Harbor Inn not far down the road with rooms and complete catering facilities.

Well I would actually recommend Randall Realty in Westerly for renting a cottage in the coastal Westerly Area. They have offices in town or in Watch Hill, and handle all the coastal communities of Weekapaug, Watch Hill, Shelter Harbor and Misquamicut. They would definitely be the best resource you can find. There are beautiful chapels in Weekapaug and Watch Hill, and a lovely catholic church in Misquamicut. Good Luck.

I had the very same idea as you. However,I had NO luck finding a cottage. I went on VRBO and few other sites. At the mere mention of a wedding,most people said no. My family rented a house thru Randall Realtors this summer. It was a good experience with a glitch or two. Send me a message if you want details and let me know if you find something!
