I will be staying in newport in sept. and would like to go to block island for the day. Has anyone left newport to go to BI and where do you pick up the ferry in Newport? How long does it take to get to BI from Newport? Thanks

The ferry that leaves Newport to Block Island stops it%26#39;s seasonal service on September 1st. You would have to drive down to Point Judith and pick the ferry up from there. About a 40 minute drive.

You can also take the RIPTA 64 to 66 buses, but that takes about an hour and a half each way!
