Vineyards in the Newport Area

I have previously posted that My best girlfriend and I are planning a girlfriend getaway to Newport October 11-16th and have received such helpful advice from TA. Now I would like to ask if anyone had a specific recommendation for a Vineyards tour? In researching the gonewport.com they list three vineyards but I would like an honest opinion of which would be the best overall experience because neither of us have ever toured a vineyard before.

Vineyards in the Newport Area

Newport Vinyards and Sakonett Vinyards are the two larger operations. Sak is actually in Little Compton, more rural seaside area, at least a 40 min. drive from Npt, but a very nice one at that. NV is a little more commercial (being closer to Npt) but I enjoyed my experience there too. They seem to have more gifts, etc. Greenvale in Portsmouth is probably my favorite because it is like being on a farm, nice renovated barn buildings, smaller, etc. You could two to compare.

YOu could also consider going a tiny bit further into Mass to the Westport River Wineries which is my personal favorite although I%26#39;ve been to the others mentioned above and liked them too. You can pic-nic at Sakonnet and Westport, don%26#39;t remember about the others but that in itself is a great experience!
