Planning to go to the Folk Festival this year for the first time. Any suggestions on how to access the venues. DO we bring our own chairs? Can we leave for lunch and return or can we bring lunch to park? Best places to see everyhting. Any insights would be helpful

It depends on where you are staying, but the best way to get over to Ft. Adams would be on a water taxi from downtown. Because of the Balck Crowes and Jimmy Buffett showing up, the traffic out theree will be crazy.
You can bring your own low back chair,blankets, small cooler (but no alcohol) and yes you can re-enter with a stamp and your ticket.

Bring windbreaker jacket too--you would be surprised how fast a hot day gets cool when a breeze springs up, on the water there.
There are a number of food venues,if you don%26#39;t want to bother with a cooler. Some of the food is really good %26amp; not too bad for you. Prices are what you%26#39;d expect (a little high) and the lines are also what you%26#39;d expect (very long at lunch time %26amp; during breaks, short to non-existent during sets).
We usually just bring some fruit, snacks %26amp; some water in our backpacks, then buy some lunch there later in the afternoon when it%26#39;s less busy.
I agree fully about the water taxi. We always take it, or we ride our bikes. The taxi is much more convenient though. We NEVER drive. It%26#39;s too crazy.
I highly recommend the low back chairs as well. We forgot our chairs once and were stuck sitting on the ground behind all the people with chairs... but as a courtesy keep them the low back kind.
It%26#39;s a great time %26amp; a beautiful location. We normally hate crowds, but we have always had a nice time despite the crowds. Everyone is usually very kind %26amp; not obnoxious.

Thanks for the answers. Bikes sound like a good idea since we are close to the park but would rather not drive. We won%26#39;t have our own bikes with us Should we reserve ahead with the bike rental in town? Do they ever run out?
There are a number of places to rent a bike in town.
