I realize this is the Providence forum but there doesn%26#39;t seem to be to much activity in the Misquamicut Beach form so was hoping to get my questions answered here.
We are planning a day trip to the beach for this Saturday. From what I see on the internet it looks like Atlantic Ave is the main area along the beach.
Is there any particular section that is better then others? Also what about restaurants on the beach anything that is a must try. We will have a 21 month old with us so would prefer something kid friendly.
Thanks for your input.
Misquamicut Beach
Hi Kenzie,
There%26#39;s all sorts of places to eat down at Misquamicut. From burgers to seafood and everything in between. There%26#39;s also a couple of places for ice cream. The main stretch of beach on Atlantic Ave is also home to a few bars that line the shoreline. Just be aware that Misquamicut is definitely mostly a young crowd and the water can be very rough, so keep that in mind. It%26#39;s also very difficult traffic wise with people coming from both R.I. and Connecticut.
If your dead set on going to Misquamicut, that%26#39;s fine, but I would also ask you to consider Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett. Much more family friendly beach with calm waters for the young ones to toil in. There%26#39;s plenty of places to eat around Point Judith. You can also take a 5 minute drive over to Galilee and watch the fishing boats coming to/from port while eating on one of the many restaurants outdoor decks. It%26#39;s all mostly casual places so no dress up required. Enjoy the day at the beach!
