Overnight Stop

Hi from the UK

We are coming over to Boston mid-September and driving to Cape Cod. We are now thinking of driving to Rhode Island first from Boston for a night. Could you please advise where would be nice to stop, I%26#39;ve thought of Portsmouth, Newport but have really no idea about these towns.

Newport is a premier destination in New England, and well worth a swing by on your way to the Cape, it would be about 30 to 35 mins south from I-195. The weather in Sept here is usually sublime. Check out the other messages for Newport websites, I think one is go newport.

Thank you - we thought about having a look round Newport. We saw a Bed and Breakfast called Shamrock Farm in Portsmouth - is that a nice area to stay that is fairly near to Newport. Many thanks

Well, I have never heard of Shamrock Farm, but Portsmouth is a nice community with some beautiful farms, on your way to Newport (10 to fifteen minutes) -so as far as location it would be great.
