Providence Radisson - HELP!!!!!!

I just did Priceline and got the Providence Radisson hotel. I read the reviews and I am REALLY nervous! The hotel sounds awful, loud and in a bad area. Is it really as bad as it sounds? Please be honest - I am scared! haha

Providence Radisson - HELP!!!!!!

On the one hand it is the worst of the Providence Hotels. On the other hand it isn%26#39;t THAT bad. It is just in a very odd location, cut off by the highway and construction from the city. You are still very close to things, but it is not a pleasant walk. If you drive, though, no problem at all.

Providence Radisson - HELP!!!!!!

It%26#39;s not that it%26#39;s in bad area in the sense of ';high crime'; it%26#39;s just that, as Jenkins86 points out, it%26#39;s in an out of the way sort of location.....

I think when they built it, they thought that that part of the waterfront would take off and be re-developed faster than it is now.

It%26#39;s an ok hotel, but it%26#39;s location could be better, and because of the highway construction, it could have some noise issues, but I%26#39;m not sure how much you would hear from inside....I would think not too much. I wouldn%26#39;t sweat it, and just look at it as a place to sleep and freshen up...it%26#39;s more than fine for that.

Thanks for the info! I feel better now. Its too bad we didnt get a hotel where we could walk around but this should be fine.

The hotel is really fine and they provide a free shuttle to get you to the center of the downtown area which is only about 2 miles or less away. The walk down Wickenden Street is fun.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in mid June. We had a confirmed reservation at the Hilton but arrived late in the evening after a big thunderstorm and found our room was not available. We were sent to this hotel, paid for by the Hilton. Lucky thing we had a GPS cause the exit ramp to this hotel was closed. It took us 15 minutes to get to a place that was about 5 minutes away. Hotel is in a very run down area with LOTS of construction. We were given a smoking room (had requested non-smoking, but this was not the fault of the Radisson as it was all they had available) which stunk like a group of chain smokers just left. We complained and were told this was all they had but they did move us to another room they said was just cleaned and might smell better. It did but too bad there were BUGS in the bed! We got out of there as fast as our legs could carry us. To their credit, the desk clerk did call around to find us another room. Apparently there was a convention in town and many of the people didn%26#39;t leave due to the storm so most of the hotels were booked. We ended up in a non-smoking room at the Johnson and Wales Inn a short ride over the border in Mass.

This place gave me a creepy vibe from the minute we got there. Lots of guys hanging around the lobby at midnight, rooms were small, dark and depressing. Lots of highway noise. My husband complained to the Hilton the next day; we were given a room that night free of charge as well as breakfast the next morning.

The manager at the Hilton really did try to make things right so we may stay there again, but that was the last time I stay at a Radisson!
