I LOVE raw oysters! Can you tell me where to go to find the freshest in town? Also, I am looking for fresh lobster and the best lobster rolls. Thanks!
Oysters%26amp;Lobster! Oh,my!
The Mooring has several different varieties available at different times.
Also more casual, the Wharf Pub is nice. (Beer and Wine only though) Scales and Shells also has a raw bar.
Flo%26#39;s out in Middletown is a summer shack type of place with all sorts of sea food....
For the freshest in town, buy it yourself at the Aquidnick Lobster Company on the wharf, or the boats at the state pier. Most restaurants will be serving fresh lobster.....but you%26#39;ll pay for it.
La Forge Casino (It%26#39;s a restaurant ddespite it%26#39;s name) on Bellevue overlooking the Tennis Hall of Fame has a good Lobster Roll.
Oysters%26amp;Lobster! Oh,my!
A couple of great places come to mind.
1. Scales %26amp; Shells in Newport http://www.scalesandshells.com/
They%26#39;re really great and in the area.
2. The Landing restaurant and bar http://www.thelandingrestaurantnewport.com/
Also has great seafood.
3. the Mooring restaurant http://www.mooringrestaurant.com/
A little pricier but great food.
Now these next couple of places aren%26#39;t directly in the area but can be had with a short 10-20 minute drive.
4. Evelyn%26#39;s drive inn. http://www.evelynsdrivein.com/
They have some of the best seafood around. You have to try the Lobster chow mein. Yeah it sounds funky but it%26#39;s totaly awesome..
5. Quito%26#39;s in Bristol,RI http://www.quitosrestaurant.net/
Another great place to grab some fresh seafood. They deal with local fisherman and what not.
6.George%26#39;s of Galilee http://www.georgesofgalilee.com/
They have some of the best seafood in RI.
Now there%26#39;s a few of the places that I go to on a regular basis..
Thank you! I can hardly wait to try the places you both suggested!
I may have misunderstood, but if you%26#39;re just in Providence, most of the places recommended by the posters are out-of-town. If you%26#39;re only in the capital city, try Hemenways. They have a raw bar that%26#39;s pretty good!
