Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used this reservation service for bed and breakfasts in Newport. I looked it up on the Better Business Bureau website and there were 2 complaints, but that was over a year ago. I just want to make sure it%26#39;s legit before handing over my credit card info.

No I haven%26#39;t used them. Why don%26#39;t you make your own reservations? I just came back from The Francis Malbone Inn and I highly recommend them.

I%26#39;ll second the Francis Malbone House......been there a couple of time. It would be hard to do much better.

Thanks for the recommendations. The reason I resorted to using this service is I couldn%26#39;t find any BNBs with a 2 night minimum for the particular weekend I was looking at. Every place I called or emailed had a 3 night min b/c of a special event that weekend.

A friend of mine was having a wedding in Newport and I was referred to Debbie Miller at Bed and Breakfast Newport ltd. I made reservations at Josie%26#39;s BEd and Breakfast almost 6 months in advance, but two weeks before the wedding I found out that there were no reservations. Debbie claims to have made the reservation, but Josie said she didn%26#39;t. Luckily, Josie still had a room avaiable. The day my and husband and I were planning on driving up, he had an emergency at work, so we were delayed. I called Josie to ask if it was okay to arrive around 1 a.m. She said it was fine and told me where to find a hidden key that would let us in. No more than 5 minutes later I get a call from Debbie telling me that Josie doesn%26#39;t want us to stay there and was very upset that we were going to arrive that late. I told Debbie that I wanted to speak with Josie personally and Debbie told me that Josie didn%26#39;t want to speak with me. Only after myself, the bride, and the groom argued with Debbie was I able to get my money back. Beware of these two.

Do not hand over your credit card information to BB Newport. They are awful. I booked a reservation and they refused to call me back, respond to my emails, etc. I finally had to have my boyfriend call pretending to be interested in booking a reservation for Columbus Day weekend just to get them to respond so we could AGAIN request a confirmation. Mind you - they had already charged my credit card. When I finally spoke with Debbie Miller, she told me I was being difficult and cancelled my reservation, of course now it is 3 months later and I still haven%26#39;t been refunded my $$. I would highly recommend booking with another more reputable bed and breakfast.

Susie, we just stayed at Victoria Skylar and it was wonderful! I really recommend this one.
