I want to buy a christmas tree this year that is so fragrant that my neighbors can smell it. Where do you recommend I go? What kind should I buy? Does where the tree was grown have any affect on how fragrant a tree is?
Christmas trees in RI
Anyone??
Christmas trees in RI
There is a place somewhere in Northern RI, N. Smithfield maybe? that apparantly has all the varieties you could want. Almost every year, the Today show goes there when they do a show on christmas trees. Unfortunatley I forget the name of the farm.

Thanks guys. Do you think it matters where a christmas tree is grown as far as the amount of fragrance it puts out? Are the trees from northern new england better than the ones grown here in RI?
It`s that time again. In the past 3 years I have bought two tree`s from local farms and one from Lowes, 2 were Balsam`s and one was a Frasier. Non of them gave off any fragrance. This year I want a tree that makes the whole neighborhood smell like Christmas.
The tree`s I have bought in the past that smelled really good from ';corner lots'; must have come from northern new england. The ones that grow around here or come from outside of new england don`t have any smell.
Help!!! I want a super smelly xmas tree.
Hi Mike,
A really good website to check out is the Rhode Island Christmas Tree Growers Assoc. They have tons of info on the different trees and which ones are known for their fragrance. They also tell you where to find them. I would stay away from Lowe%26#39;s. Happy Holidays. I hope you find a good one this year.

Will007 interesting web site! Lots of good info there. According to the website, RIMike seems like you want a balsam or white pine as these seem to be the only real fragrant ones. Definitely avoid the box stores -- you get what you pay for!
