booked at the John Mansion B%26amp;B on Pelham St. and Spring St. and am getting a little worried - no one answers the phone to verify and confirm reservation. They wanted me to mail a check to them along with the credit card confirm...should I worry?

I think you are talking about the John Banister House on Pelham %26amp; Spring and I think they have been shut down. Their website is not working and if no one is answering the phone.....I%26#39;d book somewhere else. You can contact the City of Newport to verify if they were shut down and what you can do to get your deposit back.

you were right on the money - they never answered me and did not even give me the courtesy of a reply and with me providing my credit card number - what a dismal experience with them...

It might be too late but if you%26#39;re looking for another place to stay, check out the Newport Blues Inn which was close to the John Bannister House. We just reserved the entire place for our wedding party and it was a great place to be (location excellent, inn keepers really nice and accomodating, breakfast was great, prices excellent compared to other local B%26amp;Bs) ... good luck!

I am considering staying a tthe John Mansion B%26amp;B. I just spoke to someone working there, and everything seems to be in working order. Did you ever find out what happened with them? Do you not recommend staying there? Their pricing is very cheap and i saw some positive reviews... Thanks.
