Old Bakery Inn feedback?

We are traveling to Block Island at the end of August and plan to stay at the Old Bakery Inn. Does anyone have experience staying there? We have 2 children under 10, and like the convenience of a kitchenette this provides. Just a little nervous because I haven%26#39;t seen any reviews...Thanks for any info. about the Old Bakery Inn, or in general any info. about Block Island!

Block Island is a special place. Be sure to venture away from the harbor area, and don%26#39;t miss Monhegan Bluffs.

It%26#39;s certainly centrally located, though that block gets a little raucous at night ... you%26#39;re right across from the ferry dock and on the busiest main street of Town. On a quiet island, it%26#39;s the least quiet place you can get - on the other hand you%26#39;re just a stumble from what restaurants and shopping are on offer.

Have you considered the efficiency apartments at the Gables? They%26#39;re around the corner, which is a little bit quieter, and I think they also have a kitchenette.

Yes. You have to call 466-2213 and just keep calling, every few hours, until someone picks up. The answering machine is useless, and they don%26#39;t seem to deal with email either.

We just stayed at the Old Bakery.

Pros: Great location; access to a beautiful balcony overlooking the harbour.

Cons:

Noisy. No air-conditioning, but there are fans. Don%26#39;t get too excited about the kitchenette. It consists of a tiny refrigerator, with a non-defrosted tinier freezer compartment and a microwave. There is only a sink in the bathroom, so its not like you can cook and clean dishes.

It was very clean. I would stay there again. The reason we chose this location was because it was pet friendly.
