trip 4 days to Newport

We were booked fo New Orleans this weekend and had to cancel because of Gustav. We managed to book for 4 days in Newport,RI and will be arriving Sunday. We would like to have day trips to the neighbouring towns.It is something that we should consider? What are the most important things one should do when in Newport?-I%26#39;ll check the other posts to get an idea also.

Hopefully Hanna will have blown through by then.

The Mansions, 10 mile Drive, Cliff Walk are all high on the list of things to do. Walk around town and visit the shops and restaurants. Take a Harbor Tour if the boats are running (they might have limited availability for a day or so beacause of the storm)

You can take a day trip out to Tiverton and Little Compton, visit Sakonnet Vineyard.

Take a ride over to Jamestown and enjoy Bevertail Light. Continue over to Wickfor Village in North Kingstown.

Thanks Milemarker0. We are looking forward to our trip to RI. We%26#39;ll drive from New Jersey-our 1st road trip this way. We have driven to Boston, but have never hugged the coast. Should be fun if ';Hannah'; decreases in intensity.
