We are traveling to Newport for Christmas and are looking for a restaurant open for Christmas dinner. We are a party of 5 adults. Holiday ambiance and not terribly overpriced ($45)entrees would be our preference. Suggestions?

The hotel restaurants are usually always open for holidays (Fathoms at the Marriott has been getting some good reviews), while the independent restaurants are hit or miss, you have to call ahead to ask if they will be open for the day on Christmas.
Look on Trip Advisor for the type of restaurnat you might enjoy, then contact them to ask if they are open that day. I%26#39;d also suggest reservations, since those that are open may be busy.

One Bellevue Restaurant inside Hotel Viking is also offering Christmas dinner. App, Entree and Dessert for $50. It has ambiance and the food is very good as well.
