Any suggestions for a nice, but not overly expensive, lodging option in Jamestown? We would like to spend about $150 and only have time for one night. The Bay Voyage is sold out and has a 2 night minimum.
Also, we%26#39;ve never been to Jamestown. Is it a good place to walk around, relax and have a nice meal? Any suggestions for dining?
Thanks in advance.

For Dining:
Trattoria Simpatico:

More Casual : Tricia%26#39;s Tropigrille across the street.
Eaast Ferry Deli for sandwiches and stuff like that.
Jamestown has a pretty small downtown area, there are nice parks Ft. Weatherill and Beavertail to go out and relax.
You could always stay across the way in Newport....a lot more lodging accomodations, there is a ferry you can take over to Jamestown if you don%26#39;t want to drive.
Check out www.gonewport.com for all sorts of Lodging and Area info.

The East Bay B%26amp;B was great, but the Trattoria Simpatico was among the worst we have ever experienced.

I only enjoy Trattoria Simpatico if the weather allows us to sit outside. The interior of the restaurant is dimmly lit and tables are very close to each other. ( of course we were there during the peak season). We had a nice meal at the Bay Voyage. The town is not the best for shopping and sightseeing etc. I would cross over the bridge to Newport for that.
Jamestown is a great village to relax and walk around -unlike Newport there are unrestricted views and access to the harbor. The two state parks are the best in the state in terms of views. Thankfully, Jamestown doesn%26#39;t rival Newport for shopping.
